Description
This
method describes how to obtain a representative, low pressure, gaseous CO2
sample from flash-vaporized, liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) using small (ex. 1 –
5 L), inert, specially cleaned / vendor-certified polymeric sampling bags (PSB)
or for purity analysis associated equipment. This sampling equipment is
specifically designed to allow non-compressed CO2 to be properly vapor low
pressures ample. This is an important advantage to analyse CO2 quality with
ZAHM Nagel or any other analytical instrument in safer way, Flash Vaporizer can
also be used to pull samples for trace analysis of many key impurities including; total
hydrocarbons (THC), total sulphur content (TSC), acetaldehyde (AA), methanol (MeOH), aromatic
hydrocarbons (AHC), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3) oxides of nitrogen
(NOx), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), vinyl chloride (VCl), phosphine (PH3), and some
sensory tests by using appropriate analytical equipment and sample collection
containers. Refer to the ISBT “Table of Container Suitability for Test Methods”
for more details. Pulling samples by using flash vaporizer is the easiest and
safest way of CO2 sampling.
